Drivers Ed Lessons

 

The third Dr. Ed. sessions will be starting on Jan. 28 and currently there are only 14 openings left. Once the count reaches 32 it will close. Registration is at the Moon Valley bookstore and a copy of your driver license or permit must be submitted to the bookstore manager in order to register for the class. Your 2017 school tax credit can be used to pay for the class. The spring Dr. Ed. session will be on April 1. It is recommended that students get some driving time with parents before starting the behind the wheel portion after the classroom session. The class will fill up fast so register as soon as possible.

 

 

CLOSE TRIP

 

Attention students attending the Close Up trip in March: your payment deadline is fast approaching! Final payment for your trip is due January 27th. Make sure you are paid in full on or before this date. You can pay in person through the bookstore, or you can pay online. If you have questions, please see Ms. Zamar.  Also, there will be a Close Up meeting next Tuesday after school.

Environmental Awareness Club

 

Attention Hawks, all this week the Environmental Awareness Club will be selling "Thank You Grams" in the quad area.  These grams are only .50 cents and you can write messages to your friends, teachers, or anyone on campus you want to thank for anything.  They will receive the messages in their third hour classes, AND, wait there's more.... each person also gets a free hot chocolate with their Thank You gram.  Just take the ticket to the school store for a free hot chocolate during both lunches.  Why not do something nice today?  Thank someone!  The world needs more Thank Yous.  Go to the quad and get it done.

Congratulations to the Swim team on their performance at the District Swim Meet this past weekend.  Kevin Kleissle was awarded Swimmer of the Meet after his first place finishes in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 freestyle. Good luck to him at state this coming weekend.  The girls placed 4th overall as a team.  Many of the girls made finals.  Two of the girls relays which consisted of Jenia Murguia, Allisa Evans, Samatha Watson, LeahLivingstone, and Cristina Fierro were awarded medals. Very proud of you all!

 

Cross country

 

Great job everyone for an awesome season. Saul Valdez has qualified for the Cross Country Championship this Saturday.

 

I need all of the cross country athletes to stop by my room 908 after school to hand in uniforms and to pick up clearance sheets.

The next Driver Ed session will begin on Saturday, Oct. 22nd to Oct. 29th. NHS MEMBERS

Attention all NHS members:  The first meeting of the year will be Tuesday, Sept. 13 after school.  We will be meeting in Mrs. Hogg’s room (1011).  The meeting will start promptly at 2:45 and will be over by 3:10.  If you are unable to make it you must attend the make-up meeting on Wednesday morning at 8:25 in Mrs. Hogg’s room.

 

ANIMAL AWARENESS

We will have a meeting afterschool in Ms. Amerian’s room 602 at 2:40 p.m.  Bring snacks to share.  We will finalize carnival and parade plans for homecoming and vote on our club t-shirts.

Attention Hawks!  The Apollo Carnival is just around the corner.  There will be club booths, food trucks, music and much more fun.  Tickets are now available for $8.00 and at the door they will be $10.00

MOVIE NIGHT

HOCO Movie Night will be next Thursday, Sept. 22nd.  Come on out and enjoy the first movie night of the year!  It will be on the varsity football field.  The admission fee is ONLY $3.00.  But, most importantly there will be FREE popcorn!

HOMECOMING PARADE

Homecoming Parade is next Friday, Sept. 23rd.  So, if your club is not signed up or in the parade and you are interested to participate then ask Mrs. Minks in Room 506 to be added.  The parade starts at 5 p.m. and will begin on 47th ave. and Diana and will end in the student parking lot.
